Participation and Award from a KBÜ Academic at the 48th Lisbon International Conference on Science, Technology, Social Sciences & Education (STSSE-26)
Associate Professor Dr. Caner Özcan, a faculty member of the Department of Software Engineering at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, Karabük University, participated in the internationally recognized “48th Lisbon International Conference on Science, Technology, Social Sciences & Education (STSSE-26)” held in Lisbon, Portugal, between February 11–13, 2026, where he delivered an oral presentation.
At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özcan presented his study titled “Adaptive Three-Dimensional Identification of Renal Masses and Normal Kidney Tissues in Abdominal CT Using nnU-Net” to the international academic community. The study proposes an artificial intelligence-based approach for the adaptive three-dimensional detection of renal masses and normal kidney tissues in abdominal CT images.
This participation was carried out within the scope of TÜSEB Project No. 33756, conducted in collaboration with Antalya Training and Research Hospital. With his presentation at this international scientific event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Caner Özcan was awarded the “Best Presentation Award.” This achievement has significantly contributed to the international academic visibility of Karabük University and once again demonstrated the University’s scientific productivity and strong research capacity.
