A New Era in Early Diagnosis with a Domestic Mammography Dataset: The MAMNET-TR Project

Karabük University is creating a mammography dataset specific to the Turkish population for early diagnosis of breast cancer with its artificial intelligence-supported “MAMNET-TR” project.
The project titled “MAMNET-TR: A Deep Learning-Based Early Detection System for Breast Cancer from Mammography Images of the Turkish Population,” developed under the leadership of Associate Professor Dr. Hakan Kutucu, a faculty member of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Karabük University (KBÜ), aims to increase early diagnosis rates in breast cancer by utilizing artificial intelligence technologies. The project, which aims to establish a comprehensive mammography dataset specific to the Turkish female population, plans to both increase diagnostic accuracy and reduce workload in diagnostic processes by providing a “second-eye” support system for radiologists.
