The TÜBİTAK 1002 Program-supported project carried out in collaboration between Karabük University and the University of Kentucky (USA) aims to develop an artificial intelligence system that analyzes colon cancer from histopathological images more rapidly and reduces the workload of pathologists.
The project, conducted at Karabük University (KBÜ) and supported under the TÜBİTAK 1002 Rapid Support Program, focuses on developing an AI-based decision support system for the early diagnosis of colorectal cancer. The study is being implemented through academic collaboration between Karabük University and the University of Kentucky in the United States.
The project, led by Associate Professor Dr. Caner Özcan from the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Karabük University, together with PhD student Merve Özkan, is titled “Detection of Colorectal Cancer on Histopathological Images Using Foundation Models.”.”
