TEKNOFEST 2026 Airline Optimization Competition Finalists

Our department students, Nuray Yavuz and Zeynep Bostancı, have successfully reached the finals in the "AI-Supported Airline Optimization Competition" organized within the scope of the TEKNOFEST 2026 Technology Competitions.

The competition expects participants to develop innovative, applicable, and data-driven solutions in the field of end-to-end network planning and connection optimization in the airline industry. Teams are required to develop optimization models that improve connection quality, provide competitive advantage, and offer measurable performance improvements by considering operational constraints on the existing flight network.

The main theme of the competition is "Competitive End-to-End Network Structure Optimization," which aims to improve connection quality and increase the number of competitive O&D (Origin & Destination) connections through optimizations made on the current flight schedule. In this context, the competition also aims to foster competencies in the fields of data science, operations research, and model development.

Having successfully passed the rigorous evaluation stages among numerous teams applying from all over Turkey, our students have qualified to be among the finalist teams with their developed project.

We congratulate our students on this significant achievement and wish them continued success in the final stage.
